A Closer Look at the Elegance Exuded By These Innovative Wine Cellars
Our Coastal Custom Wine Cellars team wants to create a wine cellar design that is on trend while fitting into a small space.
The customer wanted to transform the empty space in the living room into a modern-styled small wine cellar for her existing wine collection. Her Scripps Ranch home in San Diego, California, is already furnished with a modern, sophisticated style.
The aesthetic, Nordic motif throughout the client’s living area suggests a modern design with minimalist characteristics.
Our team crafted these attractive glass doors and windows that showcase the elegance of wine bottles even from the outside.
Our team of professionals led by our master designer, Steve Pantalemon, has years of combined expertise in creating unique compact custom wine room designs.
This innovative wine cellars were ideal for the wine collections for constant viewing in the living room. After considering the house’s overall design, the modern wine room was placed in the final plan.
The wooden wine racks and glass wine cellar door that his team used and LED lighting fixtures to create a comparable modern minimalistic style nicely balance the hallway’s white-painted walls.
Wooden Wine Racking: A Perfect Match for a Modern Wine Cellar with Some Vintage Touch
Wine cellar racks are essential since they hold your wine bottles and give your wine cellar more personality. Light-colored wood species were utilized to lighten this wine room gently.
As you can see, the wine room receives no outside light other than what enters via the glass door. Therefore, choosing the light-colored wine racks was an excellent idea to prevent the wine cellar from feeling too gloomy.
There are brandies, whiskies, vodkas, and other alcoholic beverages that occasionally appear in stout, square-shaped bottles in addition to the typical 750s and magnums (>1500ml) packaged in conventional long-neck bottles.
If your collection includes a variety of bottle styles, your wine storage should be able to hold them all.
The Coastal Custom Wine Cellars team designed a unique wooden wine rack for this house wine cellar that can contain a variety of wines and spirits.
Cabernets, Pinots, Sangrias, and some Don Perignon in standard or magnum sizes were the customer’s favorites, and they went nicely with this complex meal.
Upon the entrance to the wine room glass door, you’ll see the central shelf with a large, arched decanting table built into the rack. The upper half of the main shelf consists of slots for single 750ml bottles and two vertical shelves for giant wine bottles.
This design is followed below by two rows of high-reveal display racks with a light valance, then x-bins and horizontal shelves at the bottom.
We built the wine cellar’s left and right sides with double-deep horizontal wine shelves and deep cubbies for wine crates and decanting toolboxes. Beside the door and glass windows are also flat shelves for additional storage.
What Makes Maple Ideal for Our Wooden Wine Racks in Scripps Ranch
Residential wooden wine racks are made from mahogany, alder, oak, pine, walnut or redwood. We choose the wood for our shelves carefully because we want it to withstand the cool, humid environment inside the cellar.
To create stunning wooden wine racking, you can utilize a variety of hardwood species.
Choosing your wood carefully is crucial because your shelves’ tone and texture can affect the atmosphere of your wine cellar.
They decided a natural light brown variety (nearly cream-colored) would work best for this Scripps Ranch home wine room.
Maple has a closed-grain pattern, which gives it a smoother appearance, and a naturally off-white tint with light brown tones.
Depending on the final aesthetic you want to achieve in your bespoke wine cellar, some wine racks are polished with lacquer (as in this case) and stained to get a particular color. This wine rack can last long because of the wood’s inherent ability to resist degradation.
Even though it was a walk-in wine cellar, the area was still somewhat constrained, making light brown wine cellar racking an appropriate choice for the space. The mild hues made the room appear less crowded.
Introducing our Wine Cellar Door with Advanced Security Features and More!
The team kept that kind of look by using a simple wine cellar glass door with a wooden frame, as this home wine cellar had neutral, minimalist shades similar to the next room.
They used ball-bearing hinges to attach this single door to a wooden jamb. A portion of the wine display is visible through the glass, especially considering that no extra etching was added.
The security system on this glass wine cellar door is even more impressive. The customer desired a more sophisticated door lock because he had a costly wine collection. This collector chose a keyless lock system, specifically a keypad-type device, while some homeowners prefer the conventional knob or deadbolt locks.
In addition to feeling more at ease, he was no longer concerned about misplacing the key to his wine cellar. This feature is also intriguing because it adds another contemporary element to the design besides the glass paneling.
It would be beneficial to upgrade your security system if you sell limited-edition wines and spirits. If you want to learn more about additional door lock solutions, particularly more sophisticated ones like digital smart locks, our team would be pleased to speak with you about them!
