Commercial Custom Wine Cellars: An Exceptional Wine Cellar Project by San Diego Specialists
Restaurants are increasingly interested in having wine cellars for their hospitality businesses. Commercial custom wine cellars can greatly increase wine sales. When commercial establishments have modern wine cellars, it creates a pleasant atmosphere for customers and encourages them to purchase wines.
With many companies offering wine cellar installation services, it’s important to thoroughly research and find the best contractor. In the case of a stylish restaurant in San Diego, our team of wine cellar specialists was contacted by the business owner. Custom Wine Cellars San Diego and Wine Cellar Specialists have extensive experience in the construction industry, providing high-quality products and excellent customer service.
Through careful planning and design, we were able to meet all the specific requirements of the restaurant owner. The glass wine cellars have an exclusive ambiance similar to a hidden speakeasy. To access the cellar, one needs to go through a kitchen office. The wine cellar, which is 13 feet high, holds a large variety of wines for diners to enjoy. Since its installation, the wine room has become very popular and is booked three out of four nights a week.
How Modern Wine Cellars Perfectly Matched Modern Wine Racking System
We listened to the client’s preferences and created wine cellar innovations that met their preferences and practical requirements. The owner wanted a modern and efficient wine rack system that emphasized label visibility. They specifically requested that the wine racks not face forward in the design.
The restaurant owner needed a storage system that could accommodate different bottle sizes, including regular 750 ml bottles, large format bottles like Cabernet and Pinot, and even some 3-liter bottles.
To fulfill these requirements, Wine Cellar Specialists installed VintageView Evolution Series metal wine racks in a commercial wine cellar
that was 13 feet high. These racks use acrylic support panels and steel wine rods to securely hold the bottles, providing a clean and minimalist appearance. We have vast of ideal custom wine racking options to choose from.
The setup included multiple shelves that showcased the wine bottles with the labels facing outward, making it easy to read and identify the wines. At the bottom section, the team installed case storage bins to create space for wooden cases. The sleek metal wine racks from VintageView are popularly used in upscale custom restaurant wine cellars.
Glass Wine Cellar Doors Giving an Elegant Glimpse of Wine Display
Glass wine cellar doors are a great choice for contemporary wine cellars in restaurants. They not only add a touch of luxury but also allow a clear view of the wine bottles from the outside.
In this particular project, our team installed four glass doors with metal frames to make it easy to access the wines. To prevent heat transfer and avoid condensation and mold inside the wine cellar, we used dual-paned, thermally insulated glass panels. The doors we used were supplied by a Solar company.
Wine Cellar Cooling Units Installed by San Diego HVAC Technicians
To keep the wine in a custom restaurant wine cellar in the best condition, it’s important to have a reliable wine cooling system. This system maintains the right temperature and humidity levels to preserve the wine’s desirable qualities and ensure that guests can enjoy a good bottle of wine.
Before installing the cooling system, we calculate the amount of heat that needs to be removed to determine the appropriate size of the refrigeration unit. Taking into account factors like the wine room’s size, location, and amount of glass, we decided to use a fully ducted Wine Guardian wine refrigeration system. These systems are designed for optimal performance and flexibility during installation.
Installing the ductwork for the cooling unit was a bit complicated because there wasn’t much space between the building’s ceiling and the wine cellar’s ceiling. We positioned the supply and return vents at the top corners of the wine room. The intake vent draws air from the restaurant, while the heat is expelled through the roof. Since the attic space couldn’t be used for heat exhaustion due to its limited size, we found a way to release the heat into the ceiling.
The wine cooling system used in this commercial custom wine cellar operates quietly. Even with the doors open, you won’t hear any noise from the equipment. Self-contained units like this require less maintenance compared to split systems. However, it’s still recommended to have an annual check-up to ensure the cooling system is in good condition and can create the ideal environment for wine storage.
During the check-up, HVAC technicians will inspect the ducting for any leaks or issues. This helps to identify and resolve problems early on, preventing damage to the climate control system and safeguarding the quality of the wines stored in the refrigerated wine cellars.
