To create a modern and subtly lit atmosphere in the walk-in glass wine room, we carefully integrated two types of wine racks. The lower half of the walls features a wooden wine rack system, while the upper half showcases sleek metal wine peg racks.

The custom wooden wine rack is made from Alder wood and has been stained and finished with lacquer. It has compartments designed to hold both standard-sized wines (750ml) and larger magnum wines (>750ml). By incorporating high-reveals, horizontal shelves, and diamond bins, we have created a comprehensive wooden wine rack that can accommodate a significant number of bottles, especially with the triple deep horizontal racks.

For the metal wine peg rack, we opted for chrome-finished, stainless-steel pegs. Each pair of pegs can securely hold three standard-sized wine bottles. These pegs have a minimalist and modern aesthetic, which pairs well with the acrylic LED light design. They take up minimal space, allowing the bottles to be the main focus.

To make a bold statement, we installed an open-metal box at the center of the rack, specifically designed to hold a grand 6-liter wine bottle. These display boxes can also be customized according to your preferences and the available space.

To address this, we use tempered glass that is at least ½ inch thick.

To further improve insulation throughout the entire room, we installed a vapor barrier behind the non-glass sections of the cellar. The level of insulation needed also depends on the type of cooling system you prefer. In this particular cellar, we selected HS’s ducted wine cooling unit. Ducted units are ideal for smaller wine cellars as they take up minimal indoor space.
